You've Driven Me to Illness (Mental and Otherwise)
Wednesday, February 13, 2008
That's right, folks, the Yankees Chick is sick and I'm blaming each and every one of you. I suppose some blame could also be thrown on Clemens and McNameanie and their maddeningly drawn-out battle - what blogger/pseudo-"sportswriter" wouldn't become ill after having to attempt to say something moderately interesting on the story day after goddamn day!? - and on baseball in general for insisting on having such a long off-season, but it's more fun to blame you, don't you think?

Anyway, regardless of where the blame actually falls (probs Pavano), I am indeed a tad on the ill side and henceforth must take a couple weeks off to head to a sanatorium (do those still exist? I enjoy outdated words. Poppycock! Hogwash! Malarkey!). Methinks tis the perfect time to healthify myself, as Spring Training is still a few weeks off and aside from the aforementioned Clemens/McNamee bullshit there ain't much for a gal to write about anyway.

So! I'll be moderately incommunicado, but because of the pure golden magic of Blackberry technology, I'll still be posting from time to time and getting emails and whatnot. The "Fact O' The Day" will probably become more of a "Fact O' The When YC Gets Around To It", "Top Ten Tuesdays" might turn into "Top Ten... Whenever", and I probs won't be deluging the site with 23890234809 posts a week, but you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that I won't disappear completely!

WHEW! How could you have carried on without me?!!??! You couldn't. You wouldn't. It's just not possible.

ps: Just to clarify, no, I'm not on drugs - this isn't a trip to rehab. I'm a good girl.

Yankees Chick Tweets!
Fun Fact O' The Day

There were two All-Star Games played each season from 1959 to 1962. The second game was added to raise money for the players' pension funds, as well as other causes. The experiment was abandoned on the grounds that having two games watered down the appeal of the event.
What Dost Thou Thinketh of the New Yankee Stadium?
Loving the nightly home run derby!!
Loving the nightly home run derby...until we have a roster without home run hitters.
Hating the cheapie home runs
Don't be silly, nothing is different, everything will even out!
