Last year's utility man extraordinaire - he played every infield position as well as left and right field at least once in 2007 - Wilson "Better Mint (don't deny that you think that EVERY TIME you read or hear his name)" Betemit will be returning to the team this season. It's just a mini-signing, really, but everyone needs a utility man and one that can fill in at so many positions and also has a decent amount of pop is certainly a fine choice. He'll be earning $1.165 million for his services. Just a sidenote, my babies: the very fact that a bench player that barely gets on base (and a sidenote-within-a-sidenote: I DO think that he's a good addition to the team, I'm just making a point here) can demand over a mil is either a great sign for the state of the MLB's economy or yet another sign that the dollar has very little value anymore.*
*P.S: Sorry for getting a tad political... again.

I say express your political opinions all you want. It's your site, after all. Whether or not we agree on that is insignificant.
