Duncan, Melky, and Gomes Suspended for Wednesday's Brouhaha |

In addition to my usual Yankees Chick posts, I have also begun writing regularly for AOL's FanHouse blog on all things AL East. I will post the beginnings of those articles here on YC, and then you'll have to click the link to jump on over to FH to read the rest... stick with me here, amigos! --------------------------------------------------------
The Yankees and Red Sox have been rivals for ... forever .. but after Saturday's home plate collision incident and the subsequent "retaliation" pulled by Shelley Duncan on Wednesday, it appears that the Yankees have cultivated a rivalry with another AL East team -- the Rays.
If you recall, Saturday''s game featured a rough collision at home plate by Elliott Johnson that broke Yankee catching prospect Francisco Cervelli, and on Wednesday slid cleat-first into Rays' second baseman Akinori Iwamura. The benches cleared, five players were ejected, and now the three players that were most integral in the action have been suspended.

The bottom of the AL East basement: Tampa, The Oreos and the Yanks can rival against each other this year. The World Champ Red Sox have bigger fish to fry this upcoming year on their way to defending their championship title.
