From Peter Abraham: "Bad news for Posada. He will see Dr. David Altchek tomorrow and may soon have season-ending surgery to repair the torn lambrum in his shoulder. The surgery is such that he may need to get it now to make sure he will be ready for next season.
Posada admitted that he can’t throw and that it has been bothering him all season." I guess he wasn't doing much for us anyway... Molina has been doing a much better job behind the plate than dear Jorgie and at least he gets hit by pitches. Labels: injuries, jorgie porgie pudding and pie |
I hate to see Posada and possibly miss the rest of the last season in the stadium that, lets face it, he was a major part in getting back to being perennially sold out. Lets all pray that Georgie has a successful surgery and can open the new Stadium in full gear.
Now, on to Matsui. He was advised by a specialist to have the surgery that would end his season. Here is the the coin he is flipping; he rehabs nicely and is the steady rock he has been to this point, or; he keeps the Yankees from making a move because he doesn't go down for the count until after the trade deadline. Is this just his stubbornness and pride or what. His choice could haunt the Yankees long term, not to mention himself as well. I say get yourself fixed up nicely so you can play 81+ games in the new digs next year Matsui. Let the Yankees make the moves they need to for this season. I would hate to see the Yankees lose you after 7-31-2008 and be forced to find what was laying under Richie in the trash heap. I know the brass thinks we have some good farm talent but I don't see anyone (outside Gardner as a pinch runner) down there that could help now.
But hey, I am just some guy writing on someone else's blog, I could be wrong....
