BQE: Hank Goes Rogue
Monday, November 03, 2008
If there's one thing the Hankster loves, its riling people up. And he knows how to do it:
“There’s nothing we are not looking at. And personally, I like Manny. He’s one of the greatest hitters in the history of the game. He’s a free spirit for sure, but he knows how to win. We like some of the other guys, too. We just don’t know yet.”
Does anyone ACTUALLY think this might happen?

My understanding is that they want to offer Abreu a one year deal but with Damon and Matsui time being up soon, I think they need to look down the road.

Cabrera's trade value has been diminished.

As for Manny, I guess anything is possible, but I doubt it...

Hopefully, we can get Sabathia but it seems he is going out west and staying in the NL.

    Nottachanceinhell.
Girardi would quit. Cash probably would too.
What a role model for Robby, huh?
And the rest of the kids that are so important to the future of this team.
We all know what Manny can do with a bat--when he's in the mood.
And we've seen his other moods, too. I don't think even Hank is going to spend a couple hundred million dollars to poisen the clubhouse.
Sheffield wasa great hitter, too. Was he worth the trouble?
OK. Say they want to take the chance.
How's a one year contract with 7 club option years sound?
If the Yanks get some pitching and get all the other parts running on all cylinders, there's going to be a championship run soon. Probably this year.
Don't need to do a tuneup and put on a new wire that keeps flying off.

No this will not happen!! What will happen is 1 big name pitcher(i.e. CC, AJ, Lowe) will be signed. Tex will be signed. Phil Hughes will be traded in a 3 way deal with the Yankees landing Holliday from Colorado. You heard it here first from the Yankee Dude!
