Let's Get Jazzed For The Season! Wanna Join In?
Sunday, February 03, 2008
Even though this is a Yankees bloggity, and I am indeed the Yankees Chick, if you're a faithful reader you have probably noticed that I do occasionally allow those other 29 teams to make an ephemeral appearance. In fact, during the 2007 season I compiled a laconic update on all 29 of those teams almost every week (and by "almost every week" I mean that I started doing it in the middle of the season and then tried to remember to write them every week or so) in my Rest O' The League Roundups (if you were concerned, those WILL be brought back into effect the moment the season starts, and this year I really will post them every week! For realsies! I'm sure that glorious news assuaged a huge amount of worry in many of your hearts...).

Back in 2006 as I eagerly awaited the start of the season I put together pre-season profiles of each team, noting which players they had added or subtracted over the off-season and some thoughts about their roster and upcoming season. I failed to do this last year, as I was busy working as an indentured servant, but now that I have graduated from indentured servitude to something more akin to a normal balance of work/school/bloggin/intensive mental health care (or is that just me?) I am ready to jump back on the horse and bust out some team-by-team previews! Excited?? How could you not be thrilled?

While I do follow the entire league and henceforth am quite well acquainted with the goings on not just in Yankeesvile but with those other teams, I may find myself hard-pressed to think of a ton of things to say about some of these teams (I'm sorry, Marlins). I know that some of you folks that read YC have blogs of your own about other teams, and I was thinking that it might be fun to include some quotes from your blogs when I post the preview of your team. If you have a blog celebrating a non-Yanks team and would like to share your thoughts in one of the previews (just a sentence or two), hit me up via the ol' contact form or in the comments right here and we'll get to chattin'!

And no, I'm not trying to exploit you, silly rabbits. You will receive "mad props", as those hip youngsters say, and links and many thank you's!

this has nothing to do with the post, other than the "Rest o' the league roundup" was a good read last season, but I think it's time to change the poll (to anything). Kinda sick of seeing anything related to "Roger Clemens" and "juice"

    Thanks!

I'm a hardcore Yankees fan but I also follow the nationals, I would love to give you some commentary from time to time on the Nats.

In 2009 Curtis Granderson published a book: All You Can Be: Dream It, Draw It, Become It! Granderson "shares the lessons that he learned growing up--the importance of family and choosing the right friends, the power of listening and staying positive, and most important, the value of being yourself."
