Sigh. Is it too much to ask for the Yankees to put together a few timely hits? Last I checked their roster was chock full of capable hitters, even with a bit of a b-squad lineup. The Red Sox took game two of the 18-game season series this afternoon, scoring four runs off nine hits. The Yanks fell short of ensuring a series win by scoring three on six hits, but in their defense a portion of their lack of hitting today can be attributed not just to their collective slump but to Beckett's good outing. After today's game the team is only scoring an average of three runs per game.
