Why in Gods name are the Yankees trying to pick up Washburn? It makes no sense, eating that much salary and giving away a couple mid-grade prospects for a 34 year old pitcher that will eat some innings, sure, but will need big games by the offense to get any W's. I think there are better options to be had, plus we have a farm system don't we? Does Hank, Hal or Cash have a stiffy for washed up Mariners or what?
Heck, why didn't we snag up one of the young lefty starters from the Buccos while we were there? Wishful thinking, and this kid will get back to last years version and better, but Gorzo would've been a nice pick up.
