Saturday is no day for a proper update - - - especially a Saturday when the Yankees Chick went to bed at 4am after watching a 4-hour Yankees game that began 4 hours late due to some light mist that couldn't even be called proper rain and then when they finally did play they essentially gave up after, say, inning #8 (which, of course, was right after Joba "Bow Down To My Greatness" Chamberlain left the game; perhaps they were all in such awe of his infallibility they simply could not re-focus their attention on actually playing baseball), subsequently losing the game in the 11th inning off a cheap bloop single and a walk-off homer by a dude that totally isn't even good at all*. Sigh.

On that bitter note, I am in no mood for writing. Here's some links for you to enjoy, links that lead to things written by less-bitter folks:

Wakefield is awful, yet he's got a winning record. Hmmm....wonder if its got anything to do with this list of recent opponents: TB x2, LAA, BAL, TB, CWS, KC, TOR, TB, TEX. He lost to LAA (rightfully so). Looks like he's picking up another Dub today. Must be nice.

this road trip has been awful :(
i'm not expecting much from tomorrow's moose/verlander matchup either.
it sucks that we play a night game against the tigers tomorrow and then fly back to play the sox the very nest day. i think the sox actually have the day off tomorrow. unfair, but that's just how it works i guess.

    Khoa,

Yeah he won against Baltimore, which it seems the Yankees can't do. We'll be watching Verlander take care of ya'll tonight while we sip from our victory sweep glasses today on our day off. We'll see you tomorrow night when you limp back home!

    xo,

Unfair was your whole schedule in July (plus the Pittsburgh present wrapped nicely for you). Pay back's a b*tch?

Nice beat'in up on the bad teams...isn't it?

i like how red sox fans say "oh but you guys were playing those bad teams. that doesn't count" as if you guys haven't played those bad teams at all this season?? we just happened to have a schedule that caused us to play those bad teams around the same time, while the sox schedule was more scattered. it evens out in the end. idiots.
and regardless of if we were playing bad teams or not, our offense was still incredible during that time.

ps: "payback's a bitch"? what are we being paid back for? i'm not sure that is the cliche you were looking for.

    a) new layout looks good!

    b) how can you crap on Wake? He's not exactly a fireballer, but the man is having a good year. Good team, bad team, it hasn't matter. he's had a good year. Call a spade a spade and give him his due.

    c) Take it easy on Joba - yes, he's looked good, but it's only been 8 innings. So many young "studs" have come up and tantilized both us Sox and you Yanks fans with their "stuff" only to turn into a complete pile of crap. For us, i think of Paxton Crawford, Brian Rose, and Casey Fossum. For Yankees, I can only think of bats off the top of my head, but I know there have been pitchers - but both Bam Bam Muelens and Kevin Maas were the heirs to the throne, as well as Ruben Rivera. Sometimes it just doesn't work out!
